The obituary for the second half of 1907 includes the name of LORD KELVIN, the scientist of world-wide fame, who on numerous occasions honoured the Institute by his presence at meetings and social functions; as well as the names of ALFRED BACHE, secretary of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (1884-1898), and of MARTIN WALTON BROWN, secretary of the Institution of Mining Engineers. These two gentlemen rendered invaluable aid in furthering the work of the Iron and Steel Institute.
