1960 Merger of E. K. Cole with Pye of Cambridge as British Electronics Industries; each company retained its own operations and management initially but by 1962 the new company had complete control of Ekco[1]
1961 Eric Kirkham Cole retired. The business was led by Charles Orr Stanley.
1961 Still recovering from the traumas of the previous year in terms of production of television sets. The Ekco airborne radar had been radically redesigned and production moved from Malmesbury to Southend. Telephone Manufacturing Co, the new subsidiary of Pye, was expected to increase profits. The Pye scientific instruments division was expected to grow substantially. The company also had large stake in Associated Television and in British Relay Wireless and Television and held a 25 percent in Pye Records.[2]
1963 Name changed to Pye of Cambridge[3]
1976 Philips Industries acquired the consumer businesses of Pye, including Ekco except for the Hostess business[4]
