WILLIAM GRUNDY & SON have been favoured with instructions to SELL BY AUCTION, on Wednesday, April 11,1894. commencing at 11 o'clock in the forenoon prompt, on the premises, Soho Ironworks, Pollard-street, Manchester (late in the occupation of Sykes's Improved Fuel Economiser Company Limited), the Whole of the STEAM POWER, MACHINE TOOLS. STEAM CRANES, &c., all of which are in excellent condition, by first-class makers, and new within the last two years, and comprising steel Cornish boiler, 20 feet by 6 feet, with mountings comple, to work to 2501bs., by Yates and Thom, 1892; compound horizontal condensing steam engine, cylinders 16in and ?in. diameter, 24in. stroke, by Pollit and Wigzell; vertical ditto, cylinder 6in. diameter, 12in. stroke, by J. Chadwick ; Sykes's patent fuel economiser, 72 pipes; steel shafting, with wrought-iron pulleys ; cast and wrought steam piping, etc.; two Woodward's patent cupolas, each 4ft. 6in. diameter, 14ft. 6in. high ; wrought - iron gas - producing apparatus, Wilson's patent; loam grinding mill, with revolving pan, 6ft. diameter, by J. It is possible that the Soho Ironworks occupied all of part of the site of the former Soho Foundry of Peel, Williams and Peel which was on Pollard Street
