1987 Foundries and engineering group formed by the merger of Triplex Foundries Group and F. H. Lloyd and Co[1]. One of the parties had acquired Hillaldam Coburn
1987 Growing fast; merged 2 subsidiaries Dudley Wood Engineering and Welin Lambie to form Dudley Fabricated Products at the Brierley Hill site[2]. Later in the year closed the lifeboat maker, Welin Lambie; Seaboard Lloyd and its American associate were sold to their managements[3]. Steel milling and rolling business at Wednesbury (ex-F H Lloyd) sold to United Engineering Steels [4].
1988 Acquired silo makers Aldersley Equipment and Walford Brothers[5] and Christy Hunt[6], which added to Triplex's power and defence businesses.
1989 Rising profits; the cost of the F H Lloyd acquisition had been recouped by disposals and developments in the business[7]. Acquired the centrispinning business of Firth Vickers Foundry from Firth Rixon to add to the power and defence business, complementing the high alloy spun products of Lloyds (Burton)[8]
1990 Sold Lloyds (Burton) to William Cook; Triplex retained the tube spinning part of the business [9]
1997 Daniel Doncaster and Sons, component manufacturer, acquired Triplex Lloyd, and was considering whether the acquired automotive division was non-core[10]
