1900 Automobile Club Annual Dinner
Automobile Club’s Annual Dinner 14th November 1900 [1]
On Wednesday evening last, under the chairmanship of Mr. Roger Wallace, Q.C., the president of the club, the A.C.G.B. and friends, to the number of 150, gathered in the Banqueting Hall of the Metropole Hotel for their annual dinner.

After dinner, the Chairman, in proposing the usual loyal toasts, referred to the fact that now automobilists were honoured by numbering H.R.H. the Prince of Wales amongst their number. The Navy, Army, and Reserve Forces also came from the Chair, with fitting allusions to the gallant behaviour of all three services during the now closing campaign in South Africa, the toast being coupled with the name of General Sir Rd. Harrison, R.E., K.C.B., C.M.B. (Inspector General of Fortifications) . . . . . . . (continues)
