Britannia Soft Drinks

c.1980 Bass and Whitbread formed a new company called Britannia Soft Drinks that would handle the soft drinks interests of the 2 groups; Whitbread contributed R. Whites and Rawlings as well as the UK interests of Canada Dry; Bass was the major partner and would manage the business[1]

1981 The Canada Dry (UK) and Rawlings businesses were brought together as Canada Dry Rawlings

1986 Bass plc was the main shareholder (just over 50 percent); the rest of the shares were held by Whitbread and Allied Lyons

1986 Acquired Britvic Soft Drinks[2], thereby bringing Britvic together with Canada Dry Rawlings and R. White's Lemonade brands.

1987 Britannia acquired the major part of the soft drinks arm of Beecham Group forming Britvic Corona
