In 1960 Joshua Tetley merged with Melbourne Brewery in Leeds and the Walkers Brewery in Warrington to form Tetley Walker. The Melbourne bottling store was closed but there was no intention to close the brewery[1]
1961 they merged with Ansells and Ind Coope to form Allied Breweries.
By 1981 was part of Allied Breweries Ltd, a subsidiary of Allied Lyons
1993 Allied sold a 50% stake in its breweries to Carlsberg to form Carlsberg-Tetley.
1996 The Warrington brewery shut; the brands were transferred to the Carlsberg-Tetley breweries in Leeds and Burton.
1997 The remaining stake in the brewing company was sold to Carlsberg.
By the end of the century Carlsberg-Tetley only had two breweries - Leeds and Northampton. Most of the Burton brewery had been sold to Bass.
