Britvic plc is a British producer of soft drinks.
The Company was founded in the mid-nineteenth century in Chelmsford, Essex as the British Vitamin Products.
It started producing fruit juices in 1938 and started marketing them under the Britvic name in 1949.
The Company changed its name to Britvic in 1971.
By 1981 was part of Showerings, Vine Products and Whiteways Ltd, a subsidiary of Allied Lyons
1986 Britannia Soft Drinks acquired Britvic Soft Drinks, thereby bringing Britvic together with Canada Dry Rawlings and R. White's Lemonade brands.
1987 Britannia acquired the major part of the soft drinks arm of Beecham Group forming Britvic Corona, thereby acquiring Tango
